What a lab sends out

You send

  • Your exocad project with the scans attached, if you run exocad — that keeps your prescription, your libraries and your settings
  • Or loose intraoral or model scans (STL), if you do not
  • Prescription: material, shade, contacts, occlusion notes
  • Implant parts for implant crowns and abutments, and the preferences you want kept case to case

You get back

  • Milling- or print-ready crowns, bridges, inlays, onlays, veneers as STL
  • The exocad project back on request, so nothing is locked to my machine
  • Implant crowns and custom abutments
  • Complete dentures, wax-ups, smile designs, night guards and splints

Why send it here

One person, every unit

Your scan goes straight to Nicolás Petersen. He designs and reviews the crown, bridge or denture himself, the same file from start to finish, never rotated through a CAD farm.

Open when your lab is

A question on a case is answered during your own business day. Aruba runs on Atlantic time: the same clock as U.S. Eastern during daylight time, one hour ahead in winter.

You approve, then it is invoiced

The crown, bridge or denture file is sent for your review first. Minor revisions are unlimited, however many rounds it takes, and nothing is invoiced until you approve the design.

Set once, kept every case

Cement gap, contact tightness, occlusal scheme and material rules are recorded once and carried into every unit after, not re-entered case by case.

A finished screw-retained full-arch bridge with characterised gingiva and titanium bases
Files come back milling- or print-ready for the equipment your laboratory already runs; this is what your bench finishes them into.

Pricing

Every price is design only. You review the plan and the design before you pay: approval is on the report and the screenshots, and the production files are released when the invoice is settled. Revisions inside the approved plan are included. The turnaround clock starts when I confirm your files are complete and stops while I am waiting on an answer from you; if I miss the turnaround I stated when I accepted the case, that case is free.

Questions U.S. labs ask, answered

Is the work white-label?

Yes. Files arrive under your laboratory's name with no branding of mine.

What is the first-case offer for a lab?

Three units free, no plan required, so you can judge margins, contacts and occlusion on your own equipment before committing.

Do we send an exocad project or loose STLs?

Either. If your laboratory runs exocad, send the project with the scans attached and your prescription, libraries and settings come with it; the finished job goes back the same way on request, alongside STL for your mill or printer. If you do not run exocad, loose STL is fine.

Do you keep our design preferences?

Yes. Cement gap, contact tightness, occlusal scheme and material rules are recorded once and applied to every case after.

Is this a U.S. company?

No. NB Digital Dentistry is Nicolás Petersen, a digital dentistry designer based in Aruba, working remotely for laboratories and clinics in the United States, Canada and the Caribbean. Aruba is on Atlantic time, so the working day overlaps the U.S. Eastern business day.

How do files travel, and what about patient data?

You receive an encrypted upload link. Patient files never travel as email attachments and never over WhatsApp. Send the CBCT (DICOM) and intraoral scans (STL) with no patient identifiers in the file names; the design work needs none.

Who carries the regulatory responsibility, and who owns the plan?

You do, on both counts. The deliverable is a design file: printing, materials, sterilisation and every regulatory obligation stay with your laboratory or clinic, as they would for a design your own technician produced. The treating clinician prescribes the case, approves every implant position on their own screen and is solely responsible for the decision to place. I design to that prescription and tell you about anything in the data I would not drill on.

You approve the design before you pay.

The first case is free — one implant plan and guide of up to two implants for a clinic, or three restorative units for a laboratory, one per practice. Judge the files on your own equipment first.
